The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is currently under construction. The new museum campus, to be built on its existing location, will open in fall 2009 and will host dynamic learning studios; the Omni Theater, an IMAX® dome; a Fort Worth Children’s Museum; exhibits exploring energy, cattle raising and regional history; Museum School; and a state-of-the-art Noble Planetarium. During the two-year construction period, Museum exhibits are being hosted at the adjacent National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame and are included with National Cowgirl Museum admission. Museum School continues to operate in portable classrooms south of the National Cowgirl Museum. Most of the Museum’s educational programs for students and professional development opportunities for educators are being offered throughout construction. The Omni Theater will reopen in May 2008 with a new digital sound system and improved guest amenities.
