Ralph, the guide from the Museum of Family Camping, followed us across the sandy road to this museum, housed in an identical rustic camp building. A plaque reads: "Dedicated to preserving the rich history of snowmobiling and sharing it with the public." It is a series of rooms, dozens of Ski-Doos, Arctic Cats, Moto-Skis, and Evinrudes crammed nose-to-tail. Some have little signs; most do not. Our favorites are the behemoth 1918 Lombard Log Hauler ("New Hampshire's first snowmobile") and the funky 1973 Inovar Sno Coupe in burnt orange, which looks like it could have been driven by Superfly. Also boasts a Model-T converted to a snowmobile by Virgil White, who coined and patented the word "snowmobile," and the first Moto-Ski sold in the state.
