Coney Island-type amusement park, built in 1907 and now the only seaside amusement park on the West Coast. Features game arcades, refreshment stands, restaurants, gift and souvenir shops, a shooting gallery, and over 25 thrilling rides—including a half-mile-long roller coaster, the “Giant Dipper,” built in 1924 from 327,000 board-feet of lumber. Free admission; fee for individual rides. Open daily 11am-10pm (11am-11pm on Saturdays), May-Sept.; 12pm-5pm weekends rest of the year.
