Small, 7,000-case, family owned and operated winery, founded in 1977 by Frenchman Bernard Skoda, and reestablished in 1993 by the Pestoni family, present owners. The Pestonis makes vintage-dated varietal wines from their 50-acre vineyard located at the winery, as well as from grapes purchased from the Alexander Valley and Fresno area. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Sirah and Sangiovese are the wines produced. Wines are also bottled under a second label, Chateau Rutherford. The winery also has a gift shop on its premises, and schedules art shows. Tasting and sales daily 10am-4.30pm; tours by appointment. Tasting fee: $3.00-$5.00.
