Visitors aboard Riverboat Discovery travel for nearly four hours along the scenic Chena and Tanana Rivers, guided by Alaskan Natives and featuring a number of specialized sights. Partway through the trip, travelers take a guided walking tour of the Chena Indian Village, which includes a visit to the kennels of four-time Iditarod winner Susan Butcher's dogs, and the opportunity to see an authentic bush pilot take off from a short runway. Visitors also view the rivers’ confluence and gain insight into the ancient Athabascan culture. The tour company is headquartered just north of the Fairbanks International Airport.
