Founded in 1611 by Margaret of Austria, the monastery was decorated by court painters and is home to religious art, including works by Gregorio Fernández and Francisco Bayeu. Inside is a vial of San Pantaleón’s blood, which is said to liquefy every year on July 27. It is worth noting that, if the event does not occur, disaster will strike Madrid.
