Expect the unexpected to be on the menu at this enoteca/restaurant. With a chef hailing from Japan, specializing in French cuisine and cooking for primarily Italian and German tastes, you’ll find a unique selection of Nouveau and traditional dishes on the menu. Such unusual dishes include gamberoni scottati con salsa di gazpacio (crayfish in a gazpacho sauce) and maiale marinato e affumicato con salsa all’idea di Zaziki (marinated, smoked pork served with a Greek yogurt sauce). And there is always the orrechiette pasta in a zucchini and speck cream sauce and grilled trout with a caper vinaigrette for those who prefer something simpler. This locale’s reputation, however, can be attributed to more than its kitchen. With a large selection of Italian and French wines – nearly 300 – patrons may request wine tastings. The indoor dining rooms are warm and the small courtyard is also lovely. Several nights a week during the summer live music livens up dinner. The budget-conscious will fare best with the fixed price menus – the Menu di Primavera (Spring Menu), Menu del Passatore (Shepherd’s Menu) and Menu del Gourmet – that include an antipasto, a first and second course and the service charge for a reasonable Euro 30-40.
