It exhibits a large collection of 14th- to 18th-century Veronese art, including works by Bonsignori, Bellini, Veronese, Mantegna and Tintoretto. On the ground floor there is a large equestrian statue of Cangrande, circa 1335. Once known as San Martino in Aquaro, the castle was constructed between 1354 and 1356 by Cangrande II della Scala. While visiting the castle, cross the fortified bridge for panoramic views of the castle and the city.
