This 16th-century villa was owned by the Zuccareda family in the 1800s and served as a command center for the Italian forces during World War I. The villa’s rooms are devoted to Montebelluna’s mountain footwear industry and there is an interesting display of boots here, including snowshoes from the 1800s and boots from the First World War. This display illustrates the evolution of mountain footwear and exhibits Montebelluna’s contribution to the footwear industry. There is also a display of tools used in footwear production over the years, as well as the more recent production of snowboard bindings, cycling shoes and soccer shoes. Many international footwear companies have established themselves in Montebelluna, including Benetton, HTM, Rossignol, Nike and Invicta.
