The town is famous for its historic Jewish community, which flourished here until World War II after the Jews fled the persecutions of the Papal State in the 16th century. You can visit the Ghetto along Via Zuccarelli, from which a large iron gateway leads onto Vicolo Manin and the 18th-century doorway of the Sinagoga, Ghetto e Museo Ebraico.
