Chiesa di Sant’Antonio Abate (7 am-noon, 4:30-6 pm): The first church you come across on Corso Gramsci is the 14th-century Sant’Antonio Abate (also known as del Tau from the saint’s T-shaped staff). It conserves the city’s longest fresco cycle, a work showing stories from the Old and New Testaments and the life of the saint by the Florentine Niccolò di Tommaso and the Pistoian Antonio Vite (1372). The ex-convent also houses the Centro di Documentazione e Fondazione Marino Marini with a selection of sculptures and paintings by Pistoia’s most famous modern son.
