To the east is the birthplace of Piero della Francesca, Sansepolcro. Four of his paintings dedicated to this town – Resurrection, shown at right, plus the two small frescoes of St Julian and St Ludovic in Room One, and the polyptych of the Misericordia in Room Two – are on display in the Museo Civico.
