Jardin des Papillons (Butterfly Garden), situated in the Haute Provence in the town of Digne les Bains, is an open-air center that is unique in France. It boasts a total of 115 identified species of butterflies. The most recent of these, identified here for the first time in 2004, is the Moiré Provençal Erebia epystigne.

The Butterfly Garden can only be visited only on guided tours, which are given at different hours throughout the year: in April, May and September, tours are given on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 11 am and 2 pm; in June, tours at 11 am, 2 pm and 4 pm are available by appointment on Monday and Friday; in July, it’s 11 am, 2 pm and 4 pm; and in August, there are daily tours at 10 am, 11:30 am and 2 pm.
