If you follow the main road south, along the beach and make a right after the bridge, you’ll come to more hotels as the bay curves around. The Arenal Pacifico (pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, including breakfast) is owned by the same people who own the Arenal Lodge near the volcano. Their beachfront property impressed us a great deal. Big rooms and master suites face the beach, with lovely riverside gardens, cool pool and a restaurant. Agood value. Nearby is a cheap and popular eatery, Soda Hildalgo (closed on Wednesdays).
