Guided hikes and horseback rides too. Along the river, stay at the Chacón family’s Albergue de Montaña Río Savegre which has an excellent reputation for frequent quetzal sightings. Basic rooms, but with a warm and welcoming buffet dining area. Waterfalls, fishing, horseback riding – all in the midst of an orchard farm growing apples, pears, plums and peaches and surrounded by 500 acres of primary forest.
