Another brainchild of Laurence Brahm (see Red Capital Residence, p. 206, and Red Capital Ranch, p. 210), the delightful Red Capital Club offers a glimpse back in time and serves a number of imperial favorites. The restaurant is set in a traditional courtyard house and is filled with memorabilia and nick-knacks from the really Red years of Chinese history. The club also features a 1950s-style cigar and cocktail lounge, which is a great spot to luxuriate in the contradiction of this imperialist/Communist/capitalist combo.
